Free configuration

What you can configure

Configure Rust PvE damage rules and who may loot sleeping players, corpses and backpacks.

Edit oxide/config/TruePVE.json: default rule set, entity groups, mappings, schedule and loot options. Zone behavior depends on installed integrations and in-game testing.

Stop looting between strangers

  1. Open Examples in the TruePVE configurator and choose Stop looting between strangers. It enables the three non-ally loot protections for sleepers, corpses and backpacks in Configuration Options → Loot.
  2. Export TruePVE.json, apply it to a test server running 2.4.6, then reload TruePVE.
  3. Test with two non-allied players and an allied pair; include a corpse and backpack. Check any clan, friend or team integration used by your server.

The enabled 'Invis and vanish bypass loot protection (TruePVE only)' option lets invisible or vanished players bypass these loot rules; check it for staff accounts.

Common questions

Does the page create a safe PvE zone?

No. It edits TruePVE configuration and mappings. A zone needs the appropriate integration and a live damage test with the actual rule set.

Can I grant mapping access from this JSON?

No. The mapping command uses the server permission truepve.canmap, granted separately.

Before you export

  • Zone and ally behavior depends on the integrations installed on your server.
  • Test damage and looting with players on a test server before relying on protection.
Server permissions
truepve.canmap
Use TruePVE mapping commands; grant only to administrators who manage mappings.
