What you can configure

Control Rust item stack sizes with global, category and individual-item rules.

Edit StackSizeController.json: multipliers, per-item base sizes, durability stacking and unload behavior. Item definitions are resolved by the running Rust server; the Hub does not simulate its inventory.

Double resource stacks only

  1. Set GlobalStackMultiplier to 1 and CategoryStackMultipliers → Resources to 2; keep other category values at 1.
  2. Check IndividualItemStackMultipliers for resource overrides: an individual multiplier takes precedence over the category.
  3. Export, reload StackSizeController and check wood and stone stacks on a test server.

In 4.1.3 a category multiplier applies only when greater than 1; otherwise the global multiplier is the fallback. These multipliers do not multiply together.

Keep wood at a fixed 1,000-item stack

  1. Set IndividualItemStackSize → wood to 1000.
  2. Set IndividualItemStackMultipliers → wood to 1 so category/global increases do not multiply this base size.
  3. Reload the plugin and verify a fresh wood stack. Keep RevertStackSizesToVanillaOnUnload true if unloading should restore vanilla sizes.

Common questions

Why is my individual stack size still multiplied?

IndividualItemStackSize supplies the base, not a final cap. The source then uses an individual multiplier (shortname before numeric ID), a category multiplier above 1, or the global fallback. Use an individual multiplier of 1 for a fixed size.

Why is the default per-item list empty?

The server populates IndividualItemStackSize from Rust item definitions on first load and adds new items later. Import your server-generated file to retain its actual item list; the Hub’s initial example cannot predict future game items.

Before you export

  • The reviewed target is Oxide with Stack Size Controller 4.1.3, not a live compatibility guarantee for future Rust or Carbon releases.
  • Ignored items and durability handling can bypass configured increases. Effective stack sizes are clamped between 1 and 2,147,483,647; avoid extreme multipliers.
  • Leave VersionNumber plugin-managed. Importing JSON does not grant server permissions; grant them separately on the server.
Server permissions
stacksizecontroller.setstack
Change one item through the in-game command.
stacksizecontroller.setstackcat
Change one category through the in-game command.
stacksizecontroller.setallstacks
Change all categories through the in-game command; restrict carefully.
stacksizecontroller.itemsearch
Find item names and IDs in game.
