/// SUPPORTED THIRD-PARTY PLUGIN
Copy Paste
Free guide for configuring this third-party plugin in the Hub. To install it, use its plugin page or official source.
Prepare your file
- Check the installed version
This guide describes Copy Paste 4.3.0. Use the same version in the configurator.
- Get the settings
Click Import, then From my server. Select the files and confirm loading them. Selecting a server does not replace the open document. You can also import files from this device or a configuration from My projects.
- Edit and send
Adjust settings, fix errors, then use Send to transfer files to the selected server. A conflict blocks sending until you choose how to resolve it. You can still export only the files you need.
Server transfers have private backups. Save keeps your work in My projects; it does not send anything to the server. A download also lets you resume without a server connection.
Settings for this version
General 5
- Paste batch size
- Whole number · required
Entities processed in each paste batch; higher values can increase frame impact.
JSON path
Amount of entities to paste per batch. Use to tweak performance impact of pastingMinimum : 1
- Copy batch size
- Whole number · required
Entities processed in each copy batch; higher values can increase frame impact.
JSON path
Amount of entities to copy per batch. Use to tweak performance impact of copyingMinimum : 1
- Undo batch size
- Whole number · required
Entities processed in each undo batch; higher values can increase frame impact.
JSON path
Amount of entities to undo per batch. Use to tweak performance impact of undoingMinimum : 1
- Blocked prefabs
- List · required
Prefab paths that must not be spawned during paste.
JSON path
Prevent These Prefabs From Spawning - Save only active entity flags
- On / off · required
Save only active entity flags in copied data; when disabled, all flags and their states are recorded. This option does not prevent copy files from being written in Copy Paste 4.2.8.
JSON path
Enable data saving feature
Copy options 4
- Check each entity radius
- On / off · required
Extend proximity searches to discovered entities’ positions instead of only existing traversal points. This can include nearby entities farther from the starting point; review the copy radius.
JSON path
Copy Options → Check radius from each entity (true/false) - Copy shared data
- On / off · required
Keep lock, cupboard and turret access lists, plus sleeping-bag sharing information. These previous access rights can be restored when pasting; disable unless you intend to transfer them.
JSON path
Copy Options → Share (true/false) - Copy trees
- On / off · required
Include trees and resources in a copy.
JSON path
Copy Options → Tree (true/false) - Default search radius
- Number · required
Expand or reduce the search area around copy points, in meters. Larger radii can include unwanted neighboring objects, especially with per-entity proximity searches.
JSON path
Copy Options → Default radius to look for entities from block
Batch execution 4
- Execution mode
- Choice · required
Timed delay limits work between batches. Instant runs without pauses and can freeze the server during large operations.
JSON path
Loop Execution → Mode: (1=timed delay [safest], 2=per-frame [balanced], 3=instant [lag])Allowed values: 1, 2, 3
- Paste delay (s)
- Number · required
Wait between batches in Timed delay mode. Ignored in the other modes.
JSON path
Loop Execution → Timed delay between paste batches, in seconds - Copy delay (s)
- Number · required
Wait between batches in Timed delay mode. Ignored in the other modes.
JSON path
Loop Execution → Timed delay between copy batches, in seconds - Undo delay (s)
- Number · required
Wait between batches in Timed delay mode. Ignored in the other modes.
JSON path
Loop Execution → Timed delay between undo batches, in seconds
Paste options 10
- Authorize player
- On / off · required
Add the player performing the paste to pasted locks’, cupboards’ and turrets’ authorization lists. Disabling this does not remove previous lists saved with Share.
JSON path
Paste Options → Auth (true/false) - Paste deployables
- On / off · required
Restore deployable entities.
JSON path
Paste Options → Deployables (true/false) - Paste inventories
- On / off · required
Restore saved items inside pasted containers. This recreates their contents, not just the containers; review the economic impact before pasting multiple copies.
JSON path
Paste Options → Inventories (true/false) - Paste vending machines
- On / off · required
Restore vending machine data.
JSON path
Paste Options → Vending Machines (true/false) - Use stability
- On / off · required
Apply Rust building stability to pasted structures.
JSON path
Paste Options → Stability (true/false) - Restore entity owner
- On / off · required
Restore copied entity ownership.
JSON path
Paste Options → EntityOwner (true/false) - Paste DLC content
- On / off · required
Restore DLC items and deployables.
JSON path
Paste Options → DLC items and deployables (true/false) - Skin mode
- Choice · required
0 none, 1 all, 2 no paid, 3 allow specified, 4 block specified.
JSON path
Paste Options → Skins (0=no skins, 1=all, 2=no paid skins, 3=allow specified only, 4=block specified only)Allowed values: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
- Specified skins
- JSON value · required
Skin IDs or redirected item shortnames used by modes 3 and 4.
JSON path
Paste Options → Specified Skins (skin id, like 2601577757, or item shortname for redirected skins, like hazmatsuit.spacesuit) - If an entity cannot be pasted
- Choice · required
Stop leaves already pasted entities. Undo removes them. Continue skips the failed entity and proceeds.
JSON path
Paste Options → When an entity fails to paste: (1=stop, 2=undo pasted, 3=continue)Allowed values: 1, 2, 3
Plugin instructions
Copy Paste 4.3.0
Copy Paste captures and restores Rust structures. It has no required plugin dependency and runs on Oxide. Grant only the needed permissions: copypaste.copy, copypaste.list, copypaste.paste, copypaste.pasteback, and copypaste.undo.
Configuration
Copy Optionscontrols proximity traversal (Check radius from each entity...andDefault radius...), shared entity data (Share...), and trees/resources (Tree...). A wider radius or per-entity traversal can copy far more entities than expected.Paste Optionscontrols authorization, deployables, inventories, vending machines, stability, entity ownership, and DLC content. Restoring inventories, authorization, ownership, or vending data has gameplay and security consequences; verify the destination and operator permissions.- The skin mode accepts only 0–4 as stated in the source.
Specified Skins...accepts numeric skin IDs or redirected item shortnames and is used by allow/block modes 3 and 4. - Batches must contain at least one entity: zero stalls copying or causes division by zero during paste and undo. Defaults are 5 entities for paste and undo, 100 for copy.
Prevent These Prefabs From Spawningis a list of exact prefab paths. Loop Executionschedules batches with a delay, once per frame, or instantly. The 0.075-second delay applies only to the first mode. Instant mode can freeze the server during a large operation.- If an entity cannot be pasted, stop and keep entities already pasted, undo the paste, or skip the failed entity and continue.
Enable data saving featurepersists copies. Disabling it changes persistence behavior; Copy Paste data files are not part of this configuration bundle.
Target file: oxide/config/CopyPaste.json. Command-line options can override some defaults for an individual operation.
Install the files
With a connected server, click Send in the configurator. The result shows whether the files were sent and the plugin reloaded. Without RCON, reload the plugin from your server panel after sending.
Without a connected server: Keep a copy of the current files. Place each export in the folder shown before export, or follow the paths in the ZIP. Do not put data or translation files in the config folder.
Follow the plugin instructions above for dependencies and reloading. Exporting does not connect the site to your server.
